Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire around the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress when she was just aged six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy that offers part-time classes. By the age of ten she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times they as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The movie beat all previous records on its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film and the performance by three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in an feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her part in the film.
